Do you use text messages to promote your business?

Recently, there was a great article posted on NetworkWorld talking about texting plans. For a lot of us, this is hard to fathom. All those numbers, what to say, etc … but now with the popularity of twitter and facebook, you can post to those sites and let them do all the work for you!

Facebook allows people to subscribe to your page for SMS updates on your status. Of course, twitter allows people to follow you via mobile 24/7. So even if you post you have the hiccups – the entire world can know… as long as you do it in 140 characters!

I am working on a post about Twitter for a future post – there is so much to know about social networking!

Anyway – the moral to the story is this – if you do not have a texting plan, you need to get one. Otherwise the carriers are just going to continue to make up ‘per text’ pricing however they want.

So have you seen that new Tmobile ad with Catherine Zeta Jones and all the reps trying to help you ‘save money’? Being the curious sort, I had to jot right on over to www.billshrink.com and check out what all the fuss was about… turns out, the site is primarily geared towards cell bills. Is is sponsored by Tmobile? Not on first glance ..

I decided to play their game – you know they are just gathering data about everyone’s plans and true usage for future endeavors … and what do you know? They actually told me our at&t plan was the best one for my family .. two parents- one with an iphone – and two kids – who between them send and receive over 4000 text messages a month.

Unlimited texting is BY FAR the best investment I ever made!!

If you aren’t sure how to shop cell plans or know which one is right for you, check it out. It may save you some money.

have you ever wanted to send a text message, but didn’t want to incur the cost? Now there is a site that will let you do just that – provided you know the carrier. www.onlinetextmessage.com will allow you to send a text to anyone without expense to you. NOTE – if the recipient does not have a texting plan, they will incur a fee to receive.

Have you been coveting your friend’s iphone ? Thinking you missed out on the last wave? Well – waiting has paid off. The new iphone 3GS has been announced – http://tinyurl.com/ljs3l6 - is there anything this phone won’t do??? wait – there has to be something.

I’ve had an iphone for over 9 months, and I have to say it’s the best money I ever spent. Checking my email, surfing the internet, keeping up with facebook and now even twitter – it helps me do all the things I do in a day in just one device.

For those of us keeping our ‘legacy’ devices – the 3.0 software upgrade has to be a MAJOR improvement in our own experience! Cheers!
